This guide explains how to use SendWILL with Shopify Flow to build advanced automations for new subscribers.
Important:
If your store uses double opt-in email confirmation, Shopify Flow may not be triggered by a popup signup. For welcome emails, we recommend using SendWILL's built-in Welcome Series automation instead. It is easier to set up and can be turned on in one click.
Option 1: Create an advanced workflow with Shopify Flow
Use Shopify Flow when you need custom actions, such as sending a Shopify Email, adding customer tags, or connecting multiple Shopify actions.
Step 1
Go to Shopify admin > Flow, then click Create workflow.
Step 2
Click Select a trigger.
Search for SendWILL, choose SendWILL Email Popups, then select Get new subscribers.
The Get new subscribers trigger does not require extra configuration. Click the plus button below the trigger to add the next step.
Step 3
Choose Action.
Search for send marketing and select Send marketing email if you want Shopify Email to send an email to the new subscriber.
Select an email template and finish configuring your Shopify Email content. After the action is configured, click Turn on workflow.
Option 2: Recommended for welcome emails: use SendWILL Welcome Series
For welcome emails, we recommend SendWILL's built-in Welcome Series automation. It handles the welcome email flow inside SendWILL and is simpler than building it from scratch in Shopify Flow.
In Shopify admin, open SendWILL Email Popups > Automations. Click New trigger request, choose Welcome Series, then click Customize template.
Review the Welcome Series automation and click Active to turn it on.
